October 14, 2009 - Last weekend Brooke transitioned to her "big-girl bed". I admit I was a little sad to see her crib transition to a full bed, but it was time. She hadn't slept in the crib for some time. You see, there's always been an extra bed in her room (which I utilized a ton when she was an infant!). Over the last several months, as part of our bedtime ritual, we'd read books, listen to music and snuggle on the bed in her room. She'd often fall asleep and then I'd transfer her into her crib. After a while, she looked so comfortable that I'd just leave her in the bed and she'd sleept through the night without a problem. I procastinated for some time, but I finally realized it just didn't make sense to keep the crib up if she wasn't going to use it. Plus Zach's room, turned "guest room", was in need of a bed. So over the weekend we played musical bed room furniture. Brooke had fun helping turn the crib into her bed and did her best of breaking it in by jumping on it! Taking down the crib did not phase her one bit. I on the other hand....where did my baby go??
